At the most recent Ward Council meeting I had mentioned that the Parent Involvement Advisory Committee, PIAC, was looking into mathematics.
It has come to PIAC’s attention that many children are struggling with mathematics. It has been found that many parents are helping their children solve the math homework , hiring private tutors and in some instances are registering their children for math classes at private schools while still studying at the Toronto District School Board (high school students).
Although the curriculum is set by the province, the Board does have some control over how the curriculum is delivered to our children. PIAC would like to gather information from you about your experience to help identify the problems. It would be greatly appreciated if you could complete the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/J777DNX as soon as possible. Responses are requested by February 29th however will include if completed thereafter.
Also, please check out the new PIAC website which was launched this month.
