Introducing the Toronto Choral Society Children’s Choir

The Toronto Choral Society Children’s Choir will begin rehearsals in January 2013 and is now seeking young singers from our community in grades 4-6.

Initially envisioned as a 40-voice, non-auditioned community choir for children grades 4-6, the choir will offer a safe, challenging and fun environment for children to sing, learn about music and contribute to the local community.
The choir will rehearse Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Holy Name School, 690 Carlaw Avenue (at Danforth). Interviews, including vocal placement, will be held in early December 2012. Intake will expand to additional grades in September 2013.  Registration fee will be $100 for the first half year (January to May). The choir will perform a concert in May 2013.
The mission of the TCS Children’s Choir is to encourage and enrich the musical interests of children in Toronto’s east end by providing a community choir experience in which they can learn, perform and develop a life-long appreciation of singing.
The Children’s Choir is established under the auspices of the Toronto Choral Society, Toronto’s oldest continuously operating choir, established in 1845 and currently under the direction of Geoffrey Butler.
*More information regarding the interviews in early December will be posted here soon!
