The Toronto Choral Society Children’s Choir will begin rehearsals for their second season in September 2013 and is now seeking young singers from our community in grades 4-6. The choir, which was launched in January 2013, is an exciting new choral opportunity for children in east Toronto.
They are a non-auditioned community choir for children grades 4-6. The choir offers a safe, challenging and fun environment for children to sing, learn about music and contribute to the local community.
The choir rehearses Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Holy Name School, 690 Carlaw Avenue (at Danforth Avenue). Rehearsals begin September 19 and run through to May 2014. The registration fee is $250 for the full year (September to May). The choir will perform a concert in December 2013 and May 2014, as well as some community events.
The mission of the TCS Children’s Choir is to encourage and enrich the musical interests of children in Toronto’s east end by providing a community choir experience in which they can learn, perform and develop a life-long appreciation of singing.
The Children’s Choir is established under the auspices of the Toronto Choral Society, Toronto’s oldest continuously operating choir, established in 1845 and currently under the direction of Geoffrey Butler.
