Harvest Festival- Friday, October 24th from 5:30-8:00

Yes, it is happening again: our very fun Harvest Festival! Support the gardens and eco-initiatives at Jackman and celebrate the start of the new school year. We welcome everyone to dance, eat chili and baked treats, bob for apples, bring Halloween costumes to swap, buy your pumpkins and celebrate at this festive community event. Entertainment at this year’s Harvest Festival will feature the parent band The Nite Owlz and we will have a dnace party, too! Meet your school council members as they serve hot dogs and chili.

We Need Your Help!

We need people to sign up for a half hour shift at the Bake Sale, the Book Sale, the Art Activity, the Free-cycle/Lost and Found, the Pumpkin Sale. Please contact Clauda at claudia@mcgrathtoronto.com or Trisha at causley@gmail.com with your time preference. Also, if you know of any Jackman grads, high school students, grandparents, or school neighbours who would like to help, pass on this info.

We need your books for the book sale. Drop off in the front hall after Thanksgiving. Contact Lisa at lisa@globalcolors.com if you want to help sort.

We need your Freecycle items: costumes, dance wear, sport shoes and skates, jackets and boots. Drop off in the front hall after Thanksgiving.

We need a creative person to organise the Art Activity. A classroom, art supplies and many creative kids will be at your disposal. Contact Claudia.

We need you to sign up to make a pot of chili, or volunteer to make it with your child’s class. Contact Michelle Hunt at michellepampers@rogers.com or Jenny Carr at jencarmoller@hotmail.com. Let them know if you are making a meat or veggie chili. Drop off in crock pots during the day of Harvest Fest.

Start baking for the Bake Sale. We need lots of delicious treats, as the bake sale is always well attended and we always run out quickly. We’ll be accepting your baked goods throughout the day on Friday, Oct 24th. Nut free treats only please. Let Julie Dale- jdale@sympatico.ca know if you are able to help for a half hour shift at the bake table.

Thank you,

The Outdoor Environment Committee
